Hello, You were supposed to peel off the slip from your return envelope before dropping it in the box at the High Commission or take a screenshot. We do not give tracking numbers to applicants; you take them yourself. That said, email your details to generalinquiries@nigeriahcottawa.ca for follow up.

Hello Janet, Sorry to hear about your Mother. May her soul rest in peace. I am not sure about the visa on arrival. You can apply for a visa here or an Emergency travel certificate (ETC) with your expired passport. Try and renew your passport when you get to Nigeria. If you cannot do so, keep a copy of your emergency travel certificate and show the immigration officers on your way back to Canada if they ask about how you got into the country. As you know, for your return to Canada, you need to show them your Canadian passport.

Good morning. I came to the embassy for my passport renewal on the 14th of January this year, but I wasn't given a tracking number and for that reason, I am unable to track my passport. Hello, My name is Tawoju Ayomide Timilehin, I am a student in Winnipeg Manitoba. I was at the Embassy in Ottawa on appointment on the 24th of February 2022 to renew my passport in order to be able to renew my study permit which expires next month. I was informed that the passport will be ready between 4 to 6 weeks. Now It has been over 10 weeks and I am yet to receive the passport . I have sent several emails and made uncountable calls to the embassy in Ottawa without any being responded to till now. Now I am in a fix as am almost out of time within which am required to put in application for the renewal of my study permit. It was because of this possible delay that I decided to apply for my Passport that early. Am now at the risk of going out of status if I do not have my passport to be able to put in my application before the end of the month. Please I urgently need your help the to check what is responsible for this delay and for resolution to safe me from the impeding issue the delay could occassion on my status with IRCC.

You do not need an NIN at the moment as we have not rolled out the 10year validity passport program in Ottawa. The NIN is necessary for the 10year passport, not the 5.
