Dr. Chika Oriuwa has emerged as an influential person in Canada courtesy of Maclean’s power list of the 50 most influential people in Canada in 2022.
Oriuwa, a psychiatry resident at the University of Toronto, Canada, ranked 37 out of 50 Canadians who shaped the narrative about positive change in Canadian society.
Recall that we posted a story in 2021 when she emerged as the new Barbie Fashionista and role model, changing stereotypes. Mattel, the American multinational toy manufacturing, and entertainment company made the dream of a black Barbie in her likeness a reality in recognition of her positive contributions and advocacy drive for diversity and inclusion in Canada.
Apart from numerous awards received from institutions, Dr. Oriuwa was honoured as one of Best Health Magazine’s 2020 Women of the year.
Congratulations Dr. Chika Oriuwa! Cheers to more wins.
