The High Commissioner of Nigeria to Canada, H.E., Adeyinka Asekun, has advised all Nigerians across Canadian provinces to be mindful of information about the passport intervention exercise contrary to the updates of the High Commission.
In a video from the Communication series- “The High Commissioner’s Desk,” Asekun said applicants should not pay attention or part with money to any Association posting notice of intervention contrary to what is on the Mission’s website. Watch the video for details of his message.

Well this ship has sailed. In Halifax we were asked to pay $250 dollars per participant for the passport intervention. This disenfranchised some people as not all could afford it. I wonder what the high commissioner would do. The association stated that the fee was for logistics!!

Wow! We will get in touch with the Association and deal with the issue immediately. Sorry about that.

I paid CAD 1,800 for the Edmonton intervention but have yet to receive my funds back, they kept promising that the payment is underway. I sent an email about how long I can expect them to pay this back but no response. Now I'm curious and concerned why they are not paying back the money paid for the intervention.

    1. Abu SusanSays

Samuel, Please follow up with them. As you can see from our previous News updates, we mentioned that for now, we would be visiting Halifax and New Brunswick which we did. There is no post indicating our movement to Edmonton.

Hello Susan, I live in prince albert, Saskatchewan and my E-passport will expire May 2022. Please how soon do you think intervention for Saskatchewan would be? And please, I will love to get an email alert (avantguard982@gmail.com) when the date is finally set. Regards.

    1. Abu SusanSays

Hi Obinna, Please, apply and come to Ottawa to renew your passport. The intervention will not get to Saskatchewan before May, furthermore, we do not produce passports immediately after the exercise; it takes up to a 6weeks or more to process.

Can I travel to Nigeria with my expired passport and renew when I arrive Nigeria?

    1. Abu SusanSays

You can ask your airline if they will allow you to travel with an expired passport. We always advise applicants to apply for an emergency travel certificate which will save them from all the challenges at the airports abroad and in Nigeria.
