OmoSays
Great job. It's very difficult for you guys, considering the quantity of booklets you receive every now and then. Hopefully, things will improve. May God bless Nigeria.
Abu SusanSays
Thank you, Omo.
Abu SusanSays
Hopefully, your passports should be ready before April 15 if we get steady supply of booklets. Check our News updates from the Passport unit to see where we are now.

Hello, I came to Ottawa for Biometrics on Jan 25th and haven’t gotten my passport since then. I see updates for dates after then. Please who can I reach out to? Thanks!
Abu SusanSays
Please, send a message with your details (Application ID and Reference number) to generalinquiries@nigeriahcottawa.ca or send a DM to our Instagram page.
RemiSays
Abu, The high commission services are poor, send individuals that you have post their passport email instead this group email you keep posting here. Many people are there in January and yet to receive both old and new passport. You guys not reachable on phone and don’t reply emails. Is it fair despite you collected service fee?
Abu SusanSays
Remi, Thank you for your comments, but I must say that you are not constructive in your conclusion. We are not perfect, but we have improved our services if I must say so. We used to send bulk emails, and many applicants still complained. All our social media platforms are currently active, and we respond to applicants even late in the night via DM and sometimes on Saturdays and Sundays. I am always here responding to messages, even over the weekend. The suggestion to post here came from some concerned applicants for your information. And so far, we have achieved good results here and on our social media platforms. Well, you are entitled to your opinion. However, we will keep trying; we do not expect everyone to appreciate our efforts.
OlalekanSays
Hi, Abu...you are professional in your response up to the last paragraph. You are in public domain as such, avoid been offended by comments. No matter how best you tried dealing with public, you can't please everyone. Keep it simple and continue with the good work.
Abu SusanSays
Thanks.
Anuoluwapo CollinsSays
Ok, Thanks!
Tobi SubySays
Hi, thank you for the wonderful work you're doing. These updates really help me keep abreast of things. Please has same day passport service resume? If not, when might that be. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Abu SusanSays
Hello Tobi, Unfortunately, we can not resume same day service at the moment. The booklets we got are limited, and we have a backlog of applicants. Hopefully, the service will continue as soon as we clear our backlog. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement.
RemiSays
Mr Abu, What I am telling you is improve your service delivery. When you send out message on this forum and some people that are in that bracket are yet to receive their passport, then there is a problem some where. Passport payment was done individually, capturing was individual and dispatching is also to individuals. Sending collective message is not good service delivery. Send individuals personal email when their passport is dispatch with tracking number so they can look out for it. I don’t know what you mean by not constructive, because I am telling you the truth is not constructive right? You are at the embassy to render services to Nigerians, and this services are paid for, not free, so service delivery should be good. You captured someone since January and this is April, without the passport and no message from your embassy. Is that a good service? We deal with other embassies and we know the kind of service we get. So Abu, u expect us to come back to Ottawa to know what is happening to our passport. I still phoned you office yesterday and is just recorded message, we emailed no reply. Is that how service is render? Let us do what is right, Nigeria can only be good if we improve on little things.
OmoSays
Hello Remi, I know everyone is entitled to their opinions. However, you can send this as a message privately to the embassy. Additionally, you can apply to be a staff, maybe you could improve things. The issues are from up-down, not the embassy staff who are understaffed, under-funded with little supply of materials (like booklets) needed to function effectively. I also have an urgent need for my passport. If I don't receive my passport within the next 2 weeks, I will miss an important/big opportunity, but I am not holding the embassy staff responsible. They are not in charge of producing booklets. Abu and the media team are doing a great job. Mr. Paul, Nath and co are all trying their best. We should be guided. May God bless Nigeria.
Abu SusanSays
Thank you Omo.
RemiSays
So audit your January 2022 file, you will see that couple of client’s passport are with you. Get across to them why their passport is not processed or if, and posted out, then let them know when. You cannot be holding January processed application while dispatching February. You are given false or inaccurate information when you said Feb 3-Feb 9 application have been dispatched. Is it all? Note that many people did not write down the tracking number or don’t know they should.
Chief John AkasikeSays
Please I just opened the High Commission website and I noticed that a team of passport officers came to Halifax Nova Scotia where I reside recently to collect passport applicants’ data to ease the difficulties in travelling to Ottawa. I wish to commend the High Commissioner for this initiative. I am wondering if such visit can be replicated anytime soon because my passport would be expiring at the end of April. If such visit to Halifax is possible, can someone please notify me?
Abu SusanSays

Hello Chief Akasike, Unfortunately, we will not be back any time soon. We have other locations to visit on our lineup, and fair treatment is what High Commissioner Adeyinka Asekun desires for Nigerians across Canada. Please, apply online and come to Ottawa to renew your passport. And follow us on our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn to get regular news updates about interventions or other issues concerning Nigerians in Canada. Thank you for your commendation.
DahunSays
I just paid for passport renewal online, booked appointment, gather document officially listed etc. To avoid surprises cos its a long journey for me traveling to Ottawa, what other document do I need? Am I still going to pay cash?
Abu SusanSays
We do not accept cash. Ensure to come with your mandatory administrative fee money order of $50 (CAD) payable to the Nigeria High Commission, Ottawa. Also, print out all the documents you got online and come with them, plus two passport photos. You can check the size required on the website. Remember to drop your old passport in the return envelope before leaving the Mission.

Hi Abu, Good work with responses here. Is the Letter of Invitation to the embassy the same as the email notifying us of the scheduled appointment at the embassy?
Abu SusanSays
Yes
AndySays
Hi Abu, I want to know as cell phones and bags are not allowed in the high commission, is there a storage for visitors as I will be travelling from Toronto for my appointment in April.
StellaSays
Good day Susan, I hope you are doing well? Can you please confirm if my childrens' passports have been received from Abuja. We applied for change data and came for capturing on Nov 26th, 2021. Their names are Kayin and Jolaife. Your response will be appreciated. Thank you. The Animashawuns
