Alex, You have to exercise a patience. Change of name takes up to 2-3 months to process. It is done in Abuja. We can only print the passport after we get approval from Abuja. Hopefully, it will be ready soon.

I tracked my parcel and I just saw that it’s being returned to Ottawa due to incomplete address. I live in Kitchener. I will like to rectify this . Hello, we are in dire need of your help. 9 weeks ago on February 25th my husband went to the Nigeria High Commission in Ottawa to renew his passport. He left the old one with you. He has a flight ticket to travel to Nigeria on May 16th (THIS MONTH) and we just saw on the website that you have only prepared passports up to and including February 24th. Can you please help us? We are willing to drive to the embassy this week or early next week from Toronto to pick up the passport. We have not even been able to give the airline the PASSPORT # because we do not have it in our possession. Can you please email us as soon as possible? We would really appreciate it. You did not state the date you came in. Your daughter's passport may be ready and experiencing delay because you probably used the same return envelope. Yours is taking time because a name change takes up to two to three months to process. It is done in Abuja. We can only print your passport in Ottawa after receiving approval from Abuja.

Hello Susan, I came for capturing around February 22, 2022, and my passport got sent out to my location around April 22, however Canada post returned it back to the Nigerian High Commission (the sender), without any reason. I was wondering if my passport can be sent back again to my location as I need it to apply for my work permit. Hope to hear from you soon.

Samuel, Call Canada post and ask them for the location where they sent it. They usually drop it off in one of their post office close to the Mission. They don't send it directly to the Mission. Sometimes they return due to a mistake in the address on the envelope or if the writing is unclear.

I am reaching out to get an update on my renewal status. I submitted my passport in person on March 17, 2022 and I was told I would receive my passport in 6 weeks; that is not the case as of today. I scheduled an important work trip for May 10th, which I timed properly with my passport renewal. Now I am left in limbo as my passport is nowhere to be seen with no timeline on when I will receive it. It's embarrassing to have to tell my employers that I am still waiting over 6 weeks after taking a day off work to Fly to Ottawa.

Unfortunately, I can not give you a specific date because we have no control over the arrival of booklets and the quantity we receive at a time from Abuja. But we produce chronologically as we receive the booklets. So keep following our passport updates here and on our social media platforms.

I partook in the recent passport intervention in St. John's, NL on April 16th, 2022. I just recently graduated from my Master's program and would like to receive my passport as soon as possible, since I'm not allowed to work after graduation without first applying for my PGWP. I got my letter of completion on the 14th of March but have been waiting for this passport intervention so as to renew my passport before applying for PGWP. Please if there's a way to expedite the receiving of my passport or peradventure sending the new passport bio data page to my email so I can apply for my PGWP. If there is a fee involved I'm willing to comply.

We explained that the Passport Intervention is not for people who have had urgent cases several times. The President also mentioned it in several posts before the Intervention and announced it on the day of the Intervention. Yet some applicants still went ahead to capture at the venue. It takes time to produce the Passports for Intervention because the forms are sent separately in a batch to Abuja for approval. We also have to wait for the booklets for the batch. So it takes more than ten weeks to produce. We have just produced the passports for the Interventions in Halifax and New Brunswick, which took place in February. Please send your details through DM to our Instagram page. Let's hope the Immigration officers can send a message to Abuja to see if they can pull out your case.

Yes Dami, Please come to the High Commission to pick them up. You do not need an appointment for this. Tell the security officer. He will let you in. However, remember to send the passports back with a cover note stating your capture dates.

We continue to produce and post updates to keep you informed. We are not in control of booklets. We produce passports whenever we receive booklets and post an update on our website and social media platforms to let applicants know where we are in terms of production. Booklets are not produced in Ottawa. Instead, we receive them from the Nigeria Immigration Service in Abuja. Therefore, you may wish to direct your complaints to the NIS.

After the application, I was prompted to make an appointment. However, the appointment date I chose does not reflect on the application receipt.
