   Dear Susan, I currently work and stay in Barbados, to the best of my knowledge the nearest passport-issuing Nigerian embassies around me are those in Jamaica, the US, and Canada. Since I will not be needing a visa to visit Canada as a PR, I opted to renew my passport in Canada. My appointment is towards end of June 2022. Unfortunately, I learned that your expedited passport service is no longer available. I plan to stay in Canada for only two weeks, and I will be needing my passport to travel back to my work station in Barbados. What options will you recommend for someone in my situation? Note that my passport will be expiring the first week of Nov 2022.

      Under the current situation with booklets, I cannot make any recommendations. We have no control over the booklets. However, suppose you are lucky on your capture date; you may get your passport the same day.

   Hello Susan, Thank you for your reply yesterday about passports and I really understand the issue with booklets and the number of applicants. Hope you guys can make it to Regina when your ready or I can just come to Ottawa if it is urgent 😊.

   Hi Susan, I came into Ottawa on March 25th for my passport renewal, over 8 weeks ago and above the initial 4 weeks timeline for renewal stated on your website. I have an urgent travel for June 6th and I need my passport before then, which is why I had an additional month buffer for potential delays but now we’re still on March 8th - almost 3 weeks away from my date. How do I get my passport before June 6 please? Made repeated attempts to call and no answer.

      We are trying our best under the current circumstances. I am sure you have read previous comments and responses here. Booklets are not available. We will keep producing as they come in.

   Hi Susan, I was in Ottawa on the 24th of March for my passport renewal with the expectation that the processing timeline was between 4-6 weeks. It is now the 10th week and given the current rate of processing, I might not get my passport before the end of June/July. I have various engagements over the next few weeks/months and would urgently require my passport. Are there any processes in place to expedite the processing of already submitted renewal applications if the passports are needed urgently? An email? A call? A visit to the High Commission? PS: I have also tried calling the phone number on the site all week, and haven't gotten a response or call back.

      Hi Ola, The delay is due to the non-availability of booklets, The booklets come from Abuja. Please send your details to our Instagram page via DM. Let's see what can be done.

   Hello, I came to Ottawa to renew my passport/name change on March 8th and I see passport done on this date has been mailed out. I have tried to input my tracking number several times on Canada post but it says it cannot be found. Please advise, thank you.

      Name change takes a longer period because it is done in Abuja. Perhaps yours is not yet approved. Call the office to get details.
