Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, advised Nigerians in Canada to ensure that they enroll for the National Identification Number (NIN) which is an essential requirement for the enhanced passport.
The Minister made the statement at the commissioning of the enhanced passport processing and production centre in Ottawa. He also advised that the data information of all applicants must be the same as what is on the NIN.

If there is an error in the date of birth, what is the process of rectifying this?
Abu SusanSays
You have to contact the Nigeria Immigration Service to change it. We do not do that in Ottawa.

Audrey Chukwudumebi OkaforSays
Please my NIN slip has my first name, abbreviated middle name and married last name, but my passport is expiring this month and has only my first name and maiden name. 1. I want to modify my middle name with NIN, so my NIN will have my first name, full middle name and married last name. 2. Then I want to renew my passport From your requirements page I understand you only change last name due to marriage and if I want to change any other data then I have to send to Abuja. My questions: 1. Please will you facilitate my sending my application to Abuja, or do you know if I must be physically present in Abuja in order to modify my middle name? 2. If sending to Abuja is not workable right now, will you accept my modified NIN slip which has my first, middle and married last name in order for you to renew my passport to show at least my first name and married last name?
Abu SusanSays
Cut the long story short. Please, ensure that the names on your NIN appear exactly as it is on your passport.
ChinyereSays
What if I do not want my middle name on the passport? Must all the names on the NIN be on the passport?
Abu SusanSays
Yes, the must be the same.
TimiSays
can I renew my passport if my middle name doesnt appear on my passport but is on my NIN
Abu SusanSays
No, you cant.
