Hello, How do I book an appointment for my Passport renewal? I am looking through the commission's website but I cannot see where to schedule an appointment to come in. Thank you

Please go to the immigration website https://portal.immigration.gov.ng to pay and pick a date. We no longer have a calendar on the website here.

Hi Susan, I'd like to confirm which appointment exactly to respect. After payment on https://portal.immigration.gov.ng, I was taken to a book appointment page which I did. On your website here, the instructions also mention booking an appointment on your site and I can still notice a link to scheduling an appointment on the footer of this very website, which still leads to a book appointment page. So can you please clarify which appointment is the correct one and which website is also the correct one to book from. Thank you very much

Sorry, you cannot book an appointment on our site anymore. Go to Immigration. https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/passportPaymentStatus Click on passport status Put in application ID and reference number Click on acknowledgement slip On your acknowledgement slip you will see book appointment

HI Susan, But once the payment has been done, the nigerian immigration site says " Passport Applicants, please contact your Nigerian Embassy/Consulate or Immigration Office to book an appointment for Passport biometric enrolment. Please print and take the following documents to your appointment" This is after payment has been done.

No, we do not have a calendar anymore. The Immigration Service is now in control of appointments. They have a link for you to book. Go to our website under the requirement for Passport application and click on the link for appointment booking from their site.

Hi Susan, I tried to call the number the whole of last week to get an update on why my passport had not yet been mailed out (couldn’t track it on canadapost) but was unable to The site https://track.immigration.gov.ng/ showed me that my passport had been produced so was confused as to why it had not been mailed yet. Are you able to please check for an update for me? Asking as I require my new passport for Canadian immigration asap. Application ID: 19061628 Reference No: 69016737119742

I don't know how the immigration site can show you that your passport is produced when we do the production in Ottawa. Please follow the updates on our latest news section on the website here to read news about your date of capture and production if you cannot reach anyone at the Mission.

Good Day, This is a Canadian website and for Nigerians in Canada. Please why are the prices in USD instead of CAD? Or was an error made? Thank you.

You are not paying to the High Commission in Ottawa. Our payment is the money order of 50CAD. The USD payment is for your passport booklet to innovate1pay. They are not in Canada.

Hello. I would like to find out if The Nigerian High Commission has to be written in full on the money order. I am currently at Canada post and I was told the money order can’t take the full name that it has to be shortened to something like- The Nig. high Comm.. kindly confirm if this works. Also can a brand draft be used instead of a money order?

      Nigeria High Commission is fine.

Hello Susan, I placed a money order from Canada post but the cashier issued it to "The Nigeria high commission" and omitted the Ottawa due to insufficient space on the cheque. Please I hope this won't be an issue when I come for my interview scheduled for Monday February 6th?

    1. Abu SusanSays

      It is still ok.

Good Morning, where do we change our old naira notes for the new ones? We know the deadline is coming up soon.

    1. Abu SusanSays

The Mission has no connection with the change of money, unfortunately.

USD or CDN? Why do we in Canada have to pay in US currency. Makes no sense whatsoever.

You are not paying to the Nigeria High Commission in Ottawa. You are paying to innovate1pay on the Nigeria Immigration website for your passport booklet!

Good day, I applied for renewal of passport and a change of name in January 2022. I don't have my passport yet, I have contacted the embassy via telephone, emails, social media and left a comment here too. But I keep getting different responses every time. Was told a couple of months ago that the name change has been approved and they only need something called "Ticket number" to print my passport. I was able to get it and send to the Embassy via email but was told the name change hasn't been approved again. Please I don't know what's happening right now, kindly advice on the update of my passport. Thanks Ololade Olatunji

    1. Abu SusanSays

Hello Abu Susan/Ottawa High Commission Team, While I was completing the application for passport renewal, I found I was unable to select the 10 year passport. Looking back, I likely made a mistake by selecting 32 pages first before looking at the passport tab. 32 pages likely auto-removed the 64 pages option. At the time, I thought the embassy was not issuing the 10 year passports. If indeed the embassy is issuing 10 year passports now and my 32 pages selection was what precluded me from accessing the 10 year passport option, could you advise on how I could adjust this to 64 pages/10 years? I already paid for the 32/5 and booked April 6 for the embassy but I am happy to pay up to get it to 64/10 and rebook for the embassy. Application Id: 19108073 Reference Number: 31216769187102

Please contact the Nigeria Immigration Service. That is where you paid for the passport via innovate1pay. They handle issues of payment and passportbooklets
