Hi, I applied for a passport renewal and a change of name in December of 2022 (December 14th to be precise). I am yet to receive my passport . I sent in an email in February, March and April and I was told it is still pending approval in Nigeria. Is there some sort of issue going on that is delaying the approval? I do not understand what you mena by document, if you are referring to your NIN, engage one of the NIN vendors on our list on the website to change your NIN to match your passport. All names must be the same for both your passport and NIN to renew your passport.

I am Tiamiyu Adebayo Akeem. I applied for renewal of my passport on 19th of September, 2023 and did the capturing on 27th of October, 2023. I had an issue with my NIN. The arrangement of my name on my passport is different from the arrangement of my name on my NIN slip. On my NIN my middle name came immediately after my last name. On my passport, my first name came immediately after my last name. I rectified the issue with NIN and sent mails to Nigeria high commission Ottawa several times since 9th of November, 2023. No response was sent. On my collection slip, my passport was to be received on 27th November, 2023. Up till now nothing has been sent. Can I go to Ottawa to know what is delaying my passport? I need it very urgently before 25th of December,2023. Thanks.

Yes, you can come in any day, apart from a public holiday. It is probably your NIN. Ensure that it is accurate before coming in. Speak with the security office when you get here. He will let you in.

Well, these sounds complicated. The rule is that all the names on the passport and NIN must be exactly the same. In your case, it is due to marriage so it can pass. But for your husband, he should send an email to the Nigeria Immigration Service to see what will work for him.

On my passport, the names are correctly spelt but are arranged in the wrong order. My surname is alright, but my first and middle names are switched. It appears as "Ciroma Chukwuma". Hello, I applied for a passport renewal and it was not processed due to my name being different on my NIN and passport. I have changed my name on my NIN but changing it on the website is quite complicated, and the name change is not showing on my record yet. I wanted to know how long it takes to show and if I have to come to Ottawa to show proof of my name change so that my passport can come as soon as possible. If you could not process your application, it means your name change did not pull through. If you meant to change your name on NIN to match your passport, then you should be able to process your application. We can't do anything about it even if you come to Ottawa. With the new application process, you have to do all online before coming to Ottawa for your biometrics.

Hello, How are you doing today? Please, I want to know what the current policy is in regards to the March 8 promise that we don't need to come to the High commission for Biometrics. I am about to apply for renewal. I also have a friend who applied last week and he was still required to book an appointment after applying. Please we would like more clarification.
