Legalization of Documents

Legalization of Certificate of Free Sales ​

Companies exporting products to Nigeria must legalize their Certificate of Free Sales before use in Nigeria.

Requirements

  • Formal Request Letter – typed, signed, on company letterhead, listing products to be exported.
  • Authentication – Certificate of Free Sales authenticated by Health Canada.
  • Processing Fee – CAD $100 per page, payable by money order or bank draft (not cash) to Nigeria High Commission, Ottawa.
  • Return Envelope – self-addressed Canada Post Priority/Xpresspost envelope (National envelope if outside Ontario/Quebec).

Processing Time

10 business days.

Police Character Certificates must first be verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja before submission to the High Commission.

  • Original verified Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Photocopy of Nigerian passport biodata page.
  • Processing Fee – CAD $100, payable by money order or bank draft to Nigeria High Commission, Ottawa.
  • Return Envelope – self-addressed Canada Post Priority/Xpresspost envelope (National envelope if outside Ontario/Quebec).

  • Signed Request Letter – must include email and telephone number.
  • Birth Certificate – original and photocopy from the National Population Commission.
  • Photographs – two recent passport photos (32mm × 45mm, name written on back).
  • Nigerian Educational Certificates – photocopies and other relevant documents.
  • Fees – CAD $100 (money order, non-refundable) plus CAD $50 administrative fee, payable to Nigeria High Commission, Ottawa.
  • Return Envelope – self-addressed Canada Post Priority/Xpresspost envelope (National envelope if outside Ontario/Quebec).
